15.5 days

The longest time I've been without power: about 15.5 days. Some photos from the storm.

 

After a storm

The trees that had fallen towered over the house by double the house's height. Definitely heard the thump during the night and wondered what it was. Interesting how it fell away from the house when it was leaning towards it. 

 A power line snapped when another tree fell upon the wire. We heard the noise of electricity escaping the wire's loose end which kept my dad up during the night.

Baby birds

Apparently, the nest was in the bushes next to our living room window. 

Childhood favorite

A childhood favorite: the peregrine falcon. I think it's living on our property so it is spotted every once in a while. This time, the falcon decided to perch on my brother's car so we were able to get a bit more friendly with it.
